Monthly or annual billing: how much the discount saves

Annual billing on Launch, Scale and Optimize lowers the effective monthly price by about 17%, close to two months free per year: Launch drops from $97 per month to $81 per month billed annually, Scale from $197 per month to $164 per month billed annually, Optimize from $297 per month to $248 per month billed annually. The catch is the upfront payment: the whole year is charged at once. Start monthly during the trial and switch to annual once the tier is confirmed, so the discount does not lock you into a plan that turns out too small or too large.

Hidden costs: the limits that move you up a tier

ClickFunnels has no transaction fee listed on its pricing page and no paid overage for extra contacts. The cost surprise comes from caps that force an upgrade instead:

• Email contacts. Launch stops at 10,000 contacts, Scale at 75,000, Optimize at 150,000, Dominate at 400,000. The 10,001st subscriber on Launch means Scale, so a list growing past the cap more than doubles the bill overnight.
• Emails per month. Sending volume is capped too: 50,000 emails a month on Launch, 300,000 on Scale, 750,000 on Optimize, 1.2 million on Dominate. A 10,000-contact list mailed five times a month already hits Launch's ceiling.
• Workspaces. One workspace on Launch means one brand or one client. A second project, store or client account needs Scale (5 workspaces) even with a small list.
• Custom domains. Launch includes 5 custom domains; Scale and above are unlimited. Several brands on separate domains push you off Launch quickly.
• Team seats. 2 seats on Launch, 5 on Scale, 10 on Optimize, 20 on Dominate. A freelancer, a VA and a copywriter already exceed Launch.
• Courses. 3 courses on Launch, 6 on Scale, 10 on Optimize, 20 on Dominate, which matters if ClickFunnels also replaces a course platform.

None of these are fees, but each one is a step to the next tier. Budget against the cap you will reach in twelve months, not the one you hit today.

Which tier fits: Launch, Scale or Optimize

Launch fits a solo founder or a two-person team running one project with fewer than 10,000 contacts. Scale is the plan most growing businesses end up on: 75,000 contacts, 5 workspaces, 5 seats and unlimited domains, justified by either a list past 10,000 or a second project. Optimize fits an agency or larger in-house team running several clients side by side, with 150,000 contacts and 10 workspaces.

Dominate: the annual-only tier

Dominate costs $5,997 per year, billed once a year with no monthly option. It covers 400,000 contacts, 20 workspaces and 20 team members. It is worth the jump only once Optimize's 150,000-contact cap or 10-workspace limit is the real constraint; below that, Optimize on annual billing costs about half as much.
